ARTIST STATEMENT
This artwork is a true representation of community and collaboration. With contributions from the participants, The Migrant Resource Centre, Regional Arts Network Tasmania, Arts Tasmania and T3D Studios, we have created a participatory artwork that captures the theme "Harmony on Haig". We have combined, blended and united the many drawing styles into a single artwork which is representative of the rich tapestry of the community. The artwork shows through complex textures the diversity of backgrounds and drawing skills united within a single language with line and colour, which can be viewed as a dreamlike landscape. The participants reflected upon the theme of harmony and captured the common themes which contributed to the overall work. These ideas span around nature, relationships, community and home. On reflection it deepens our understanding of how we nurture and preserve these ideas in our day to day.
