ARTIST STATEMENT

This historical work showcases the surrounding suburbs of the new Longford District Police Station. As history repeats itself and the smaller police stations merge into one, we felt important to herald the original police buildings along with the archival police records. Memories disappear and reappear as slices of the archives are brought to light. Antique script features heavily along with stamps and labels from original plans. The Tasmanian Police looked after the stock holdings and fishing licences along with records of daily activities.
