ARTIST STATEMENT
This artwork is inspired by nature and has been created as a site specific work for the entrance to the new building for Years 11 and 12. Forms found in the world around us are expressed through laser cut steel showing movement, growth and organic shapes. The original inspiration was taken from forms found on land such as moss and lichen, the work has been extended where we have incorporated inspiration of the sea with waves and water moving upon the surface. The space is currently used to assist students into trades and metal fabrication. The artwork will act as an inspiration to these students extending their education at Kings Meadows High School. The work is created from one aluminium piece 3000 x 1500mm The surface behind the work is painted in an exterior grade paint and creates a secondary level to the work.
